Community Services
- Family Care Conferences: This service is unique to Comprehensive Rehab. Our long term patients and/or family members are invited to attend a meeting with their primary therapists as a group in order to ensure that the goals are the same, and that we can do all we can to promote carryover of treatment progress into the community. All caregivers, teachers, and any other person associated with the patient’s care are encouraged to attend these meetings.
- Family Resource Center: Our patients have access to multiple resources through our family/community resource center. These resources range from information on community services available to specific information on an illness or disorder that they or family members/caregivers are dealing with.
- Family Resource Committee: This committee has been developed to continually investigate and recommend activities and materials that we can provide for our patients and/or family member/caregiver through our family resource center. This is a companywide committee that is responsible for maintaining our commitment to providing our patients and/or family members/caregivers with resources to best equip them in dealing with their situation.
- Patient Transportation: This program was developed to assist those in need of transportation to and from their therapy appointments. This program is based primarily on need for those who would not be able to attend therapy without this assistance. The transportation program is currently being offered in Clinton and Muscatine.
- Giving Tree: During the holidays, each of our facilities has a decorated Christmas tree in the waiting room. The tree is decorated with cards containing age, gender, and a few items that they would like for Christmas. The cards contain a number which corresponds to a number assigned to our patients who have agreed to participate. Staff members, guests, parents, caregivers, and other patients take tags from the tree and return them with a gift for that patient. The gifts are distributed on their last scheduled therapy appointment prior to Christmas.
- Backpack drawing: As the new school year approaches, each of our facilities conducts a drawing for a backpack with school supplies. This project is typically associated with an age/ability appropriate treatment activity that allows the patient to be eligible for the drawing.
- Biannual blood drives: Our Clinton facility hosts a biannual blood drive that is open to the public.
